Located at the peaceful Southern end of the Esplanade is Sea Change Beachfront Apartments. A collection of twenty three generous apartments perfectly positioned facing the Coral Sea.
Sea Change had an existing wireless system delivered over ethernet using Mikrotik devices. The devices were out of date and configured as a shared open network with captive portal for guest authentication. Devices such as smart televisions couldn’t connect to the network unless they had a browser to use the username/password screen. To make matters worse, some of the routers had failed so guests were connecting to the wifi in adjacent rooms that lead to very ordinary performance.
Each Mikrotik device was upgraded to current firmware. Any faulty/corroded data sockets were repaired. Devices were configured as a router and with an individual wireless network just for that apartment.
No more captive portal. Each apartment now has it’s own wireless network and credentials using WPA2 encryption. Compatible with all smart televisions, chromecasts. apple tv’s etc etc.
